18 December 2014 Press Release for Skyviews Sustainability Awards – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SKYVIEWS AWARDS BONAIRE BUSINESSES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EXCELLENCE Skyviews Inc., Caribbean map publishers to the Caribbean region since 1989 celebrate 25 years of service to the tourism industry and destination of Bonaire.  On the 17th December 2014 industry partners from the last quarter century came together to share this milestone with Skyviews at the Spice Beach Club, Bonaire. The Lieutenant Governor of Bonaire: Mr. Edison Rijna inaugurated the launch of the Sustainability Awards for Bonaire tourism providers through BlueGreenMatters.Org and presented 8 Bonairean businesses with their Sustainability Award. The Awardees were: ECHO, Dive Friends Bonaire, The Cadushy Distillery, Sunshine Market, Posada Para Mira, Mangazina di Rei, La Placita and VIP Diving. From left to right:  Lily Leahy, ECHO. 09/12/2014 4:41 pm  (News Print) Press Release for Skyviews Green Awards FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SKYVIEWS AWARDS GRENADA BUSINESSES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EXCELLENCE Skyviews Inc., Caribbean map publishers since 1985, inaugurated the Skyviews Sustainability Awards for small, medium and large tourism service providers through BlueGreenMatters.Org with support from GLISPA, Global Island Partnership and CREST, Center for Responsible Travel in Grenada this week in Grenada. The Awards ceremony took place on Monday 8th December 2014 at the closing ceremony of the Nutmeg Festival, Prickly Bay Marina. 16 local businesses received Awards for excellence in sustainable business practice in one or more of the areas: Biodiversity, Energy, Social Governance, Water and Waste.  The top recipients of the Sustainability Awards were: Conservation Kayak, Almost Paradise, Eco Dive, Calabash Hotel and Aquanauts. SKYVIEWS SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS PROGRAMME LAUNCHED ON JULY 11, 2014 AT THE 3rd   SYMPOSIUM FOR INNOVATORS IN COASTAL TOURISM  IN GRENADA SKYVIEWS SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS Jessica Bensley, CEO of Skyviews Inc. successfully launched the Skyviews Sustainability Awards programme on July 11, 2014 at the 3rd Symposium for Innovators on Coastal Tourism where stakeholders were able to see how their businesses can derive direct benefits from participating in the Awards programme and how the Caribbean and its tourism product will benefit from adopting more sustainable practices. The Skyviews Sustainability Awards programme will help guide businesses through a process to engage better practices that will not only have global impact in terms of who we attract to the Caribbean but also on our communities. The Skyviews Sustainability Awards will achieve the following: Phase 1: Show businesses that have not engaged in sustainability practices, ways they can adopt best practice measures and do so through a very cost effective process. Phase 2: Gather quantitative and qualitative data that can be used to implement solutions and create synergies between NGOs, Governments, donor agencies and the private sectors.   THE BIG PICTURE We in the Caribbean must play our part; we MUST act now!                                                                     Be awarded for your sustainability initiatives.
